  • Proof of Audit Miner Instructions

    Please note: your wallet needs to be running and synced to mine.
    1. Create a folder named PoA Miner.
    2. Download dapscoin-poa-minerd from Download Site. Place the downloads in the PoA Miner folder.
    3. Create your own or download the sample poa_miner_configuration.json file below. Place in the PoA Miner folder.
    4. Edit poa_miner_configuration.json in a text editor:
      - Change the admin:admin123$ to match your RPC user and RPC password from dapscoin.conf (note the : seperating the username and password)
      - Change the # of threads to the amount of threads you would like to use (number of CPU-cores can be used as a reference)
    5. Run the command below in Command Prompt or Terminal.
    Code:
    Windows
    dapscoin-poa-minerd.exe --config=poa_miner_configuration.json

    Linux/Mac
    ./dapscoin-poa-minerd --config=poa_miner_configuration.json

            "threads": "2",

            "no-stratum": true,

              I just downloaded and setup your miner and wallet software, and I get the following error.

              Any suggestions? I really want to support this coin.

              OS: Linux Mint 19.2 Cinnamon 64-bit

              Video card: Radeon VII

              Comcast Internet (Non-static IP)

              rpcpasswrd=randompw
              rpcallowip=127.0.01

              Also tried:

              rpcuser=worker

                  make sure your wallet is fuly sync then only run the miner.

                  Good luck

                    I tried this and I'm still getting the same error.

                    The wallet shows green and I have 16 active connections. Any other suggestions?

                      looks like a typo in rpcallowip. should be 127.0.0.1, you hve 127.0.01. Let me know if that helps!

                    I'm still getting the same error.

                    All the config files are correctly setup as listed on this post.

                    I even removed my router and connected the PC directly to the modem....still same error.

                    What's interesting is that the wallet (dapscoin-qt" connects just fine to port 53572, but the mining program is refused connection to port 53573.

                    Is 53573 the correct port?

                    Could the problem be the localhost 127.0.0.1:53573 connection? What's the difference in the connections between the wallet in the miner?

                    I really would like to get this problem resolved.....

                    Thanks

                      To users finding this thread and who can't get it to work, after following the instructions and failing many times, I was told that the file PoA Miner file created in step one has to be in the same folder as dapscoin.conf. I.E - the dapscoin folder in App data, roaming. Hope that helps!

                        So if you're struggling to get the poa to work, this is what I did (win 10):

                        Create a folder called "PoA Miner" on your desktop:
                        C:\Users\*myname*\Desktop\PoA Miner

                        put the miner file (dapscoin-poa-minerd.exe) in that folder

                        open a folder and in the address bar type:
                        %AppData%

                        Navige to the "DAPScoin" folder

                        in there create a text file (right click, new, text document)
                        rename it "poa_miner_configuration.json"
                        note that ".json" needs to be the new extension, not ".txt"
                        copy the following text into the file:

                        server=1
                        rpcuser=worker
                        rpcpassword=randompw

                        {
                        "url": "http://127.0.0.1:53573",
                        "userpass": "worker:randompw",
                        "threads": "2",
                        "no-longpoll": true,
                        "no-stratum": true,
                        "quiet": true
                        }

                        save & close the file.

                        **NOTE THAT THE 1st 3 LINES (IN RED) MAY RESULT IN AN ERROR. IF SO, DELETE AND TRY AGAIN**

                        Open the "dapscoin.conf" file in the same folder & copy the following text into it:

                        server=1
                        rpcuser=worker
                        rpcpassword=randompw
                        rpcallowip=127.0.0.1

                        save & close
                        Now open your wallet & wait for it to sync.

                        Then

                        open a windows command console
                        navigate to the folder you created by typing:
                        cd \Users\*myname*\Desktop\PoA Miner (& hit enter)
                        then type :

                        dapscoin-poa-minerd.exe --config=poa_miner_configuration.json

                        Hit enter & you should now be mining...…..

                        That's it.

                          Errors out:

                            Has anybody got the miner to work on Windows or Linux? I've tried every suggestion and even different combinations....still it gets a syntax error or "Connection Refused" error. I'm beginning to think this software is vaporware. Why is it sooooo difficult to get it to work, and where's the support?
